BOSTON – A Lowell man was sentenced today in federal court in Boston for his role in a money laundering conspiracy. Hector Nunez, 40, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs to 45 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. In May 2026, Nunez pleaded guilty to one count of money laundering conspiracy and three counts of money laundering, aiding and abetting. Over a two-year period, Nunez laundered or helped launder approximately $688,650 of narcotics proceeds. Over the course of the investigation, law enforcement learned that Nunez understood that these funds were the proceeds of cocaine trafficking. United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jarod Forget, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Division made the announcement. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brad A. Rocheville of the Narcotics & Money Laundering Unit prosecuted the case.
