Davenport Man Sent Back to Federal Prison for 46 Months for Firearm Charge

DAVENPORT, Iowa – A Davenport man was sentenced on August 12, 2026, to 46 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon and 18 months in federal prison for revocation of his supervised release. According to public court documents and evidence presented at sentencing, Terry Markey Miller, 44, possessed a firearm and ammunition at his Davenport residence, which were located during a search in January 2025. Miller is prohibited from possessing firearms because he is a felon. Miller was on federal supervised release and had been released from prison 10 days prior to his arrest. At sentencing, the Court also revoked Miller’s supervised release. In 2010, Miller was sentenced to a 30-year prison term for conspiracy to distribute cocaine base in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. His sentence was commuted and he was released from prison in January 2025. After completing his term of imprisonment, Miller will be required to serve a three-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system. United States Attorney David C. Waterman of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement. The Davenport Police Department investigated the case.
