GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN – On August 7, 2026, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Timothy VerHey as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan. VerHey assumed that position on July 21, 2025, after being appointed by former Attorney General Bondi. President Trump nominated VerHey for confirmation by the Senate on April 13, 2026. VerHey was confirmed as part of a block of nominees submitted for a roll call vote that occurred on August 7, 2026. U.S. Attorney VerHey said, “I consider this one of the great honors of my life. I am proud to represent the United States as it seeks justice in all its civil and criminal legal matters in this district. As long as I hold this position, my goal will be to see to it that all our citizens receive justice and fair treatment.”
