COLUMBIA, S.C. — Everett Sabb, 37, of Summerton, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of 500 grams or more of cocaine and 28 grams or more of cocaine base, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. Evidence obtained in the investigation revealed that Sabb was a supplier of cocaine, crack, and marijuana in the Clarendon County area. On at least one occasion, he traveled to California to meet with potential drug suppliers on behalf of his coconspirator. Law enforcement discovered Sabb with firearms or ammunition on two occasions. Sabb was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to his prior state felony convictions, which included convictions for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base, Distribution of Cocaine Base with the Proximality of a School or Park, and Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol. United States District Judge Joseph F. Anderson Jr. sentenced Anderson to 240 months’ imprisonment, to be followed by a 4-year term of court-ordered supervision. There is no parole in the federal system. This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elle E. Klein is prosecuting the case.
